A wine with a ruby red colour and noticeable flecks of whitish violet. After a year, the colour turns to brick-red and remains unaltered over the years.
Bouquet: vinous, intense, slightly fruity, with marked overtones of peat, noble wood, toasted almonds and sometimes with a hint of moss.
Taste: supple, with a fine balance between alcohol content, acidity and tannin. Elegant and pleasing but hard to judge, because this is a wine whose character remains to be discovered.
Ideally suited to white meat, boiled meat, lighter-flavoured red meat, roast meat with light flavoured sauces, and poultry, especially duck and guinea fowl. In simple terms, ideal with game, boar, pork and roast meat.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°.
